Castings giant backs community

STEEL castings giant William Cook has launched a charitable fund to back projects to reduce homelessness and childhood deprivation.
The Parkway Avenue firm has donated £15,000 to set up The William Cook Charitable Grassroots Endowment Fund for South Yorkshire, which has levered in a further £15,000 in matched funding through the Grassroots Grants programme being administered by tADVERTISEMENT
he South Yorkshire Community Foundation.
William Cook Holdings chairman, Andrew Cook, said: "William Cook is a globally successful firm, but still recognises its South Yorkshire roots. It has a strong commitment to local communities in South Yorkshire and I wanted to give back something to the local areas that have helped us achieve our business successes.
"This fund will provide long- term community support for vital groups and projects."
The three-year Grassroots Grants programme has enabled the South Yorkshire Community Foundation to raise £3.3 million to provide grants to local causes.
